Characters:

1. Jed- a young man, strong , takes risks, smart. He believed he was joining a exclusive social society which ended up with the name of a “cult” by the media causing him to want to leave.

2.Peter- Jed’s younger brother, impressionable, easily lead, came to the commune with Jed.

                                                                                                                                   

Goal:

Jed wants to convince his brother to leave the commune with him.

                                                                                                                                   

Problem:

Convincing his brother to leave with him turns into a argument as Jed convinced him to join originally.

The leader of the commune may lead to a problem as he will not want secrets about the commune to come to light in the press.

                                                                                                                                   

Change:

Jed leaves Peter to go back to the commune and gives up hope of his brother joining him back into their normal lives.

                                                                                                                                   

The Idea:

Jed and his brother have lived in a commune together, they followed a leader there during a time when the leader believed he could give a better life to the people that followed him. Jed has asked Peter to meet him to convince him to leave the commune and the life style they currently live to go back to there family. The leader of the group believes the way that they live in the commune is the “right” way of living and therefore people will all be able to ascend into heaven. 

The Pitch- 

A man struggles to convince his younger brother to leave a cult commune. Will he succeed or abandon his brother?

The Meeting


Pitch- A dramatic insight into how gang culture affects two different lives.

Characters-

Gangster- Jimmy. Spends time drug dealing and being part of a gang. The gang is his only family, the only life he has ever known. He is easily influenced, aggressive, aims high, never managed to get very far in the gang.

Artist- Angelo. Working on a film set, on the side sells drugs to support his wife and child. Respectable and presentable in appearance but a risk taker.

Setting- Film set

Story idea- Jimmy has to prove himself to his fellow gangsters/mob, by killing a low level drug dealer, Angelo. The meeting is a surprise to Angelo. Jimmy turns up at the film set, dressed as a crew member, with the aim to kill Angelo. Jimmy meets his goal by stabbing Angelo in the studios when the opportunity of being alone becomes clear. He rests Angelo on the ground next to his new set and walks out of the film set towards the entrance. As he is leaving the studios he notices a women and a child as the women introduces herself as the wife of Angelo and that she was there to see him. Jimmy feels guilty about leaving a child without their father as he could personally relate, he now realises the effect that mindless gang violence has on the innocent. Jimmy is confronted with the fact that he may never be able to leave the gang without being dead.

Pitch for Soft- A modern and realist farther and son faced with fear and violence from a group of bullies. 

Pitch for news story- A 14 year old girl disappears from home after being convinced to join strangers she met on a social media site, creating panic over safety
