Directions unit- Auditions

Today I contacted all the people that applied for roles in my short film.
My message to them was;
"Hello my name is Roxanne Meats and you have applied for a role in the short film I am creating. I have had a look at your profile and would like to offer you an audition on Thursday 30th January. Please contact me if you are still interested, you will not be paid for this work but your name will be in the credits."
 I sent this message to 12 applicants and I am writing a chart as to keep track if they come in for the interview.

I decided to look up mood boards for inspiration, this is what I found on google hopefully this may help me with my ideas.

Directions Unit-Blue

The colour blue can be used to simulate cold and sad. It can also be associated with Winter. I typed "blue" into google and found some interesting images.

 This image is one of a person with a blue background, this makes me this of sadness and loneliness.












This is a wonderful landscape in a cold light.

This image I can see as being disorientating as well as in a way representing something happy. 

This is a image where we are looking a what seems to be a cold sky, the colours of what looks like the sun coming up really stand out and make it seem like the happiness coming through the cold and sad.

Directions Unit- Change in character

After reading the script over I decided that I have the wrong character for the role of the second character in The Journey Through Sorrow. So I have changed the character from Sean to Taz.

Taz is a 36 year old women with a child, she sells drugs on the side of her job as a cleaner at the club James works at. She has a child named Hayley, Hayley is 8 years old and goes to school. She spends weekends at her dads house in London. Taz currently does not have a partner  but is known to have a string of one night stands, after working at the club she stays and enjoys the music and drinking. She prefers to stay in the club due to the fact she can get free drinks. Taz grew up in London, she lived in a flat in Bromley, with her two parents. She met Hayleys dad when she was 18 and they stayed together until a year after Hayley was born, this lead to Taz moving out of London and to Kent.

Directions Unit- Casting

For the four min film I am producing January/February time 2014, I have decided I want extras and I need two actors.

I want four extra's, as to walk in the streets around the actor during the filming as to add atmosphere.

I have not yet come up with the statement yet to post online to the casting sites.

Casting Now offer free registration. 

Casting Networks ask for the director to post projects. 

I posted an advert onto star now a free website to have a basic profile. I have posted on there for two male actors to play in a four min short film. I have posted the adverts together so that I can have the lead and the co-star together. In the advert I have mentioned that I can send them a page of the script for auditions that will be late Jan.
