Studio Production- Producer and Director Meeting

Production design, studio organisation and roles;

Studio costs-

  • Time is money, scheduling 
  • Dry Hire- Just a space
  • Wet hire- Crew added 
  • Pre-production stage needs to be made specifically 
  • 9 weeks of planning

Set Design-

  • Set needs to feel real? 
Function of the set- 
  • Practical 
  • Two different zones? 
  • Beware of HD for 2D sets 
  • Ensure wide screen friendly 
Consider 
  • Limitations- transport
  • No issue with glare for the camera 
  • Background does not over power the contributors 
  • Shadows
  • Copyright applies to us!
  • No logo's and no stripes 
  • Brick set- can look like moving on camera 
  • Make sure it works with framing, no right angles 
  • Door ways? How do we not see them coming? 
Work relationships
  • Have a schedule for them 
  • Monitor progress 
  • Communication is essential 
  • Be on top of managing their work 
  • Allow for creative freedom 
Audience 
  • Consider the audience 
  • Source the tickets and arrival arrangements 
  • Email tickets with codes on 
Workshops-

Rehearsal-

  • Gallery- ensure scripts and distributed 
  • Studio floor- rigging and de-rigging, camera rehearsals 
  • Studio- liaising between the floor and gallery  
  • Audience- ensuring tickets are collect Promo producer 
  • Green Room- Guests to wait 
  • Dressing Room-Talent 
  • Camera Memory Cards- Ensure they are logged and stored 
  • Schedule for the day- make sure there are breaks 
CATF Meeting 10am Friday 13th.
