Major Project- Screening Meeting

For the screening we have been asked to organise ourselves and make sure that we can provide is as follows:
For this I have decided to take responsibility on making sure that all these things will be arranged. I will be doing this by contacting my fellow students and asking their opinions as well as being available to help them if they need it.

I asked Ferg when he visited the Hazlitt theatre to send me the photos of the venue. We have 360 seats.

On Facebook we have a group for the 2013 class we use this to communicate up coming events and ask each other questions. I used this to voice my ideas to the group, this helped as people could comment what they thought. From the first post we then lead to have a meeting.
The meeting went well which lead us to have different roles for the screening. Each role was agreed as a group, then another was agreed. Grit (my group) decided to take care of the tickets/invites.

I've made an event page for the screening that will soon be published and tickets will then be available within different sections.

Major Project- Collaboration

As part of the project I needed to make sure that my crew was ideally from the university, this lead to collaboration and making sure that the people who helped got something out of it. This motivated me to help out on the 2nd years live production.

I was at first just a stand in to make sure that the camera crew and director could make sure that the angles for the show were correct and flowed. Also so that the producer could see if the script was working currently. I hope that this was helpful for them.

For the day I was asked to come into the gallery and keep score for the rounds. Due to the amount of time I spent being a stand in made me know the answers to all the questions. For the day I will be helping Jess out to make sure the scores are correct for the final reveal at the end of the show.

Through helping on the Live show I believe that I have managed to learn more about kids television shows, how interesting it is to be on a quiz show and how difficult it can be for the gallery to keep count of the score.

A TV Play that was created by some 1st years shows the behind the scenes of the program I was helping on.

Collaboration is a key part of making films, by providing a service to those who help you, you are giving a reason for them to keep helping you. Such books as, Producer to Producer help to define why it is always good to give back to those who help you.

Major Project- On Set

On each day on set of Grit there were different challenges for me to deal with to make sure that the filming went smoothly.

As producer I thought it would be a good plan not only to be there for organisational reasons and for trouble shooting but also to help with small things such as props and set design.

For the picture below we were at a campsite scene for this scene, I had secured permission for the location, this included putting up the tents. To help a little bit extra I helped to take down the tents and to put the content inside. This included putting blood on the inside of the tent and dressing the actors in the tent.

For the Mote Park reporter scene I made sure that the police tape was up and within camera view. Although the main idea of the scene is to use the audio we found that it was best to keep the details intact, such as having police tape around an area the police have supposedly visited.

For the last scene in the film we had to dress one of the actors, he needed to look like he had a stab wound. This lead me to cut a hole in the shirt, attach the knife to his chest and painting blood around the area. We didn't want to much gore/blood, so for this we added little bits as we went along, seeing what came out best on the camera.

Other things on set included script readings, editing the script as the actors went on, making sure the props are always on set and providing food/drink for the cast.
